Founded in 1984 by John W. Duntley who opened a small office in the US (Chicago). The company is now the image of decades of history and innovation. With a global network of distributors that allows local support to vehicle maintenance level and the provision of specialized equipment: compressors, reliable and robust tools for the construction and industry sector.

 

Landmarks:

 

1987: In 1987 the Chicago Pneumatic became part of the Swedish Atlas Copco Group

 

1901: John W. Duntley; the company's founder latch knowledge with the steel magnate Charles M. Schwab; achieving a strategic alliance and attracting strong investment leading to that December 28 is the first patented monoválvulva jackhammer.

 

1904: Year of the CP expansion. Opened several branches in England; Canada and Germany. New product lines were designed, including hammers and pneumatic tools.

 

1925: A year marked by the manufacture diesel engine Benz; used in various racing cars in Europe. The same year the CP starts production of rotary drilling of oil wells probes.

 

1939: Designs and manufactures the world's first Impact Wrench (in pneumatic and electric version).

 

1999: Awarded a silver award AMA institution for its advertising campaign "23 pieces".

 

1994: Starts the production of compressors and transportable electrical generators.

 

2007: marks the inauguration of a new technology center in Nantes, France.

 

2010: Adopt a new design, launched globally, that it highlights the new brand colors: red and black.
